Have an older furnace that another company deemed unsafe to use. Was getting a quote for a new one from Hetter Heating & Cooling and the service tech called in an another tech to run a test for a second opinion. They told me it was safe to use. It was a service that went beyond the call..I would recommend them any time I’m asked. Those techs were wonderful!!
Updated Review from 2-Star to 3-Star after positive response from Hetter. In short I believe Hetter management wants to do what is best for the customer, but the execution needs some improvement. I had two issues with my service that left me unhappy. Issue #1: The service was scheduled for Friday the 20th, however I received a text on Thursday the 19th that a technician was on his way. I was surprised and called to confirm. I was told that I was incorrect regarding my understanding of the Friday scheduling and that a technician was indeed on his way. We waited around all morning and after repeated calls was told that in fact the appointment was indeed scheduled for Friday. Very frustrating. Issue #2: The written estimate included a "Convenient control with a high-contrast screen": The one installed clearly does not have a "high-contrast digital screen" (See pic) Even more troubling is that the unit installed in my home was an AprilAire Model 600 and their website clearly shows a controller with a LCD screen "included in the box" (see pic) It simply is not acceptable to agree on a formal estimate prior to service only to have products with less features installed. Hetter Response: Hetter came an installed the correct controller as per which was stated in the original estimate. However, the technician failed to come during the scheduled window from 7:30am to 9:00am. Even more frustrating, when I called they could not provide any answer as to when the technician might arrive. A simple text or call that he was running late would have been appreciated.
We chose Hetter for a maintenance check on our furnace because of their many positive reviews. We weren't disappointed. Lance is an experienced technician, and he did an outstanding job thoroughly checking our furnace and making recommendations as appropriate. He took time to answer our questions and he explained anything we requested. I highly recommend Hetter for HVAC service.
Hetter was wonderful to work with from the moment we spoke with them. We were able to schedule a technician for next-day service for our malfunctioning heater, and before he came out we got a text with his picture and name, which made me feel safe letting him into the house alone. Ryan was a true expert, too - not only did he quickly diagnose & repair our issue, he gave me some tips on how to prevent it from happening again. We paid $125 for his expertise and the fix, which felt reasonable to me. I’m now keeping Hetter as my preferred HVAC company going forward. Thanks for the help in the middle of the cold snap!
